I Want Your Love! I Need Your Love!

Desperation is not love.

“When you find your self begging someone to love you (even if it’s just as a thought) it never feels good, does it?

What if you could give your self all of the love that you think someone else should provide?

What if every day you saw your self as your best lover, friend, nurturer?

What if you hugged and hugged and stroked and kissed your self and told your self how beautiful and talented and wonderful you are?

What if you looked in the mirror and saw the many faces of love that you are?

What if you called your self by your true name: LOVE.”

Today’s Powerful and Positive Affirmation is:
“I AM LOVE!”

Abundant gratitude to all the lovers in the world, to those who ‘seek’ and share love, and to all who desire to know the many facets of love. I am grateful today for my breath, my lips and nose and mouth, my tasty tongue, my ears, my hands and feet, family and friends, the sun, moon and stars, wind and rain, ocean and sand, my house at the beach, my upcoming vacation, my book agent, editor and publisher.

Amen!

Is That Love?

Have you ever noticed that when you try to convince someone that your way of loving / caring / honoring / appreciating / being is the ‘right’ way, it most often feels like something other than love?

What’s up with that?

“If you want someone to see things your way, try first to see things their way. Maybe there is something wonderful about their way that you are overlooking.

Love sees everything as possible. Love allows. Love says, ‘That could be interesting.’

Love also sees that yes and no are equally loving answers. When you say yes when you want to say no, is that love? When you say no when you want to say yes, is that love?

Look inside for the answer. You might find that you love the process and along the way you could rediscover the true essence of love.” – At One

Today’s Powerful and Positive Affirmation is:
“I let love do the work.”

Thanks to all who read this blog, and to those who show us where love truly lives.

Amen!

Peace and joy –

Love Is…

“Whatever and whoever you love, love them without limits. Try not to say no to love. Open your arms to it and watch it come to you from a million different sources (or more). Continue to ask love to show you where it lives and you may be surprised where it resides. Of course it is everywhere and in everything and everyone. How can it not be?”

“There are four questions of value in life… What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same. Only love.”
– Johnny Depp in Don Juan DeMarco

“Eventually you will come to understand that love heals everything and love is all there is.”
– Gary Zukav

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.”
– His Holiness the Dalai lama

“Our goal while on this earth is to transcend our illusions and discover the innate power of our spirit. We are responsible for what we create, and we must therefore learn to act and think with love and wisdom and live in service to others and all life.”
– Carolyn Myss

Today’s Powerful and Positive Affirmation is:
“I allow love and laughter to fill my life.”

Thanks today to the tranquility that a blanket of snow brings, friends who call and make me laugh, chocolate, my book agent, editor and publisher, wisdom from many sources, my accountant, the IRS, new and prosperous business deals, guidance from diverse sources, and Narativ, Inc.

Have a peace-filled day!

Naming What You Love

The title of today’s post was inspired by a chapter in the book Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach. Simple Abundance is filled with “quotes, poems, meditations and practical exercises for every day of a woman’s year.” Don’t worry guys, there is version for you titled A Man’s Journey to Simple Abundance. (Why do I have the ladies version? Simple: I liked the quotes and my friend Robin was giving the book away. Thanks Robin! BTW, for years I had a copy of the book Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom by Dr. Christiane Northrup. Don’t be afraid to learn about women, gentlemen.)

Back to Simple Abundance. In the chapter that I happened upon this morning (in my search for a love topic), Breathnach invites the reader to ask the question “What is it that I truly love?”, and states, “The only opinion that counts from now on is your own.”

On Sunday I was working with a group of men at the monthly NYC Easton Mountain gathering and asked them to tell five other men in the room what they were passionate about. I invited them to name five passions. “I am passionate about my dogs.” “I am passionate about teaching.” “I am passionate about sex,” came the responses. It was easy for some to rattle off five passions and challenging for others.

“Telling your self and others what excites you and what inspires you is one way to attract more of that into your life. Knowing what you love brings self-awareness and enlightenment to all areas of your life. You could even begin to ask your self ‘What more can I open myself to knowing and loving?’ That attitude will attract peace of mind and peace of heart.” – At One

What, or who, do you love? Can you – dare you – name it?

Here are five things that I love:

1) Naps on the couch
2) The ocean after a storm
3) Staying up all night to finish reading a book
4) Laughing with friends
5) Sharing inspirational messages

(I could also add chocolate, sex, my family, working from home, traveling to foreign countries, meditation…)

Today’s Powerful and Positive Affirmation is:
“I love what I love.”

A big, loving gratitude wave goes out to Google, my clients, my cat, my home, the sun, my budding weather expert and friend Holly, all who pay me to facilitate Law of Attraction and Shamanism workshops, my home at the beach, my breath and body, NYC and the MTA.

Thanks and peace to all!

Bring On The Love!

Valentine’s Day is coming up on Sunday (Feb. 14th), so I thought I’d dedicate this weeks posts to the topic of love.

As I sat to type this, two examinations of love appeared on my Google News Sidebar. One is a scientific piece on how love may be measured, and the other is about an Indian woman called Amma who shares love freely through a hug (a hug that I have experienced and wrote about on this site last July).

Amma

So we’ve got science and spirit working the love angle.

Here is what my spirit had to say about the subject:

““When was the last time you danced with someone you love?

When was the last time you sat quietly, looking into the eyes of someone you love?

When was the last time you looked in the mirror and said, ‘I love you’?

Love will all ways be here, waiting for you to tune in, to acknowledge and receive it. It cannot go away. It lives, endlessly, inside of you and all things.

Love just loves.

How about you?”

Today’s Powerful and Positive Affirmation is:
“Love is all around me. I welcome it all ways.”

Today I am grateful for another opportunity to know love, to joyfully share my vision through this blog, to know and love so many amazing people, and to make money by doing what I love. I am grateful for Odwalla Mango Tango juice, the Jefferson Market Library, ever-changing technology, my new mini-notebook, new and prosperous business opportunities, and my book agent, editor and publisher.

Thanks and peace to all!

A Law of Attraction & Manifestation Reminder

“As you remember your deep connection to ALL THINGS, we guarantee that your ability to manifest what you want will become more and more apparent to you – as it has been.

As your ability to SEE the Law of Attraction and Manifestation in a positive way in your own life grows, you will surely have more respect, more compassion, and more love for others.

You are now where you are. You are in the perfect place for everything to manifest. Use your brilliant mind to create more of what you want. Focus on that. See your self living the life of your dreams. Do not censor it. Your imagination can empower and heal you. BE OPEN to what is and what can be. BE IN LOVE with all of it. It is a part of YOU. That is good news!” – From a meditation on Feb. 7, 2010.

Today’s Powerful and Positive Affirmation:
“The world around me reflects my thoughts. I am open to knowing my self all ways.”

A shower of gratitude to Robin Coley, Holly, Fred, NY Sports Club, my strong will, my couch, those who reflect the power of doing what they love, a snow-free city, my laptop, my breath and body, and Yogi Tea’s Throat Comfort.

Thanks and peace to all!

Why Wait Until Friday?

It’s Friday again, which seems to be a cause for celebration for many people. And why not? Their weekday routine is ending and maybe there will be some excitement, something different (like Sunday’s Super Bowl) to look forward to.

“I’m really looking forward to Friday!”

“Can’t wait until Friday!”

“Thank God it’s Friday!”

What if we applied that same enthusiasm to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and even Saturday and Sunday?

“Imagine saving all of your excitement, all of your positive thoughts, all of your enthusiasm for one day of the week. What if you were to spread that joy around, to give as much value to the other days, to hold Tuesday in as much esteem as you do Friday? What is the difference, really, between those days?

Reclaim the EVERYDAY joy that can be found wherever you are. Whenever you choose to acknowledge it, joy shows up. It’s that easy. Seek and you shall find. Look for ways to make every day a special day.

What are you waiting for?”

Amen.

Today’s Powerful and Positive Affirmation is:
“I live my life to the fullest every day and in every way. I choose joy.”

Today I give thanks to my clear and concise vision, to Bob and Ancil at the McBureny YMCA for the inspiration for today’s post, home cooked meals, Bank of America, financial freedom, my home at the beach, my book agent, editor and publisher, the presence of ‘the grandmothers’, Jill Anderson at http://www.JillLynnDesign.com, the alignment of art with business (for fun and profit!).

Please note: The ‘Friday’ image above comes from the blog/web site Life Organizer.

Thanks and peace to all.
